At Uncle Tom’s guest house we have offered our guests affordable accommodation for more than 16years. We are situated in Phalaborwa, less than a two minute drive from the Phalaborwa gate to the Kruger National Park.

Our three star guest house offers you a choice between self catering, single/double rooms or backpackers, all en-suite. All our rooms are air-conditioned to ensure complete luxury in the warm summer nights and are equipped with coffee/tea facilities and a fridge.

Each room has a separate entrance that will ensure your privacy. Every group has access to secure parking and are supplied with remote controls for easy access parking inside the premises. All units have access to braai facilities and a dip pool to cool down on hot summer days. Various wild birds live and breed inside the premises and offer excellent pastime to keen bird watchers.

Game tours, bush walks, 4X4 tips, bush braais, night drives, sunset boat cruises are some of the activities that our guests can choose from. Phalaborwa is situated in the heart of big5 country with private game reserves all around. Phalaborwa originated as a mining town with the largest man made open cast pit in Africa, with a diameter of 1846m and 898m deep.

Mine tours can be arranged and free access to the open pit or visit the home of the Amarula cream Liqueur where it was founded and still produced. If you are a keen golfer, do not forget to bring your clubs with, as you could play 19 holes among the big 5 on the world famous Hans Merensky Golf Estate. Kapama offers you access to their unique cheetah breeding project.

Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation centre for endangered and injured animals offers you a unique wildlife experience as well as elephant back safari. The Giriyondo border post between SA and Mozambique is less than 90km from Phalabowa. There is at least one flight per day to between Johannesburg International (OR Tambo airport) and Gateway Kruger Park Airport situated in Phalaborwa.

Uncle Tom’s Guest House is a three star establishment, graded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and we are situated about 3 kilometers from one of the main Kruger National Park Gates. From both of our guest houses you have easy access to the centre of town, sports grounds, various facilities and the hospital.

We are very affordable, but still see our way clear to allow an ever welcome pensioners discount.

Whether you arrive exhausted or not, you will find the rooms as well as the garden comfortable and relaxing, with safe parking and lockup gate, a refreshing swimming pool and braai facilities.
